Information we collect

StairMatch collects information you voluntarily submit, including contact details, shipping ZIP code, flooring and project information (such as the flooring brand, color, SKU, and the store you bought it from), stair details, messages, and uploaded project photos.

How we use information

StairMatch is a coordination and referral service. We use submitted information to identify flooring, review custom stair-nose requests, reply to you with options when a project is not a fit, and, with your permission, pass a project to our manufacturing partner so that it can contact you with a quote. We also use it to communicate about your project and to improve our services.

Forms and service providers

Website forms are processed through Netlify. Hosting, email, analytics, shipping, payment, or other providers may process information only as needed to provide their services.

Analytics

StairMatch uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are viewed, which links are clicked, and whether a request form was sent. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives standard technical information such as your IP address, browser, and device type. Your name, email address, phone number, messages, and uploaded photos are not sent to Google Analytics. You can opt out with Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Photos you upload with a request are stored with that submission by our form provider, Netlify, and are used to review your project and, if your project is passed to a manufacturer, to show that manufacturer what needs to be matched.

Advertising

StairMatch displays, or may display, advertisements on its informational pages. Ads are served by Google AdSense and may be served by other advertising partners we add in the future. Ads are not shown inside request forms.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. These vendors may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser, device type, and the pages you view. They do not receive the information you type into our forms.

You can choose how you are shown ads:

• Turn off personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings.
• Opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info, or at optout.networkadvertising.org.
• Use the privacy and cookie choices shown on this site, where they are offered, or set your browser to block or delete cookies.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. This site and its service providers use them for analytics (Google Analytics, described above), for advertising (described above), and to remember how you arrived at the site so we can tell which pages lead to requests. Blocking cookies will not stop you from browsing the site or sending a request.

Sharing with manufacturers

StairMatch does not make stair nose itself. When you agree on the request form, we share your project and contact details with our manufacturing partner, who makes the stair nose to match your flooring and contacts you directly by email or phone to confirm the match and quote the work. If a project is not a fit for that partner, such as a floor it cannot match, we reply to you with options instead and do not share it. The stair match and custom order forms ask you to agree to this before a request can be sent, and we record the wording you agreed to alongside your submission.

The information we share can include your name, email address, phone number, shipping ZIP code, flooring brand, color, SKU, and store, your stair details, your messages, and the photos you uploaded.

No manufacturer is contacted automatically: a person at StairMatch reviews every request first. While we find the right manufacturer for your project, manufacturers may see a summary of it - the flooring product, stair details, and general location - without your name or contact details. Your name, email address, phone number, and the project details needed to quote the work go only to the manufacturer that takes your project on.

StairMatch may receive compensation from manufacturers for referring projects to them. That compensation does not change what we share, and we share your information only as described in this section.

Once a manufacturer has your details, it uses them to contact you and to handle your quote, order, payment, production, and shipping under its own terms and privacy practices. General questions sent through our contact page are not passed to a manufacturer.

We do not sell the information you submit through our forms, such as your name, contact details, or project details, to data brokers, advertisers, or other unrelated third parties. Advertising on this site works differently and is described under "Advertising" below.

If you change your mind before your project has been passed to a manufacturer, email order@stairmatch.com and we will stop. If your details have already been passed on, we will tell you which manufacturer received them so you can contact it directly.

Data choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of information you submitted by emailing order@stairmatch.com. Where a manufacturer already holds your details, you can make the same request to it directly, and we will tell you who has them.

Depending on where you live (for example California and other U.S. states with privacy laws, or the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland), you may also have the right to know what personal information we hold, to correct or delete it, to opt out of its sale or sharing for advertising, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. Email us at the address above to use any of them. If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent where the law requires it before using cookies for advertising and analytics, and you can withdraw it at any time.

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
